Lead Software Engineer (Compiler/LLVM)

What you will do

• Design and implement compiler optimizations and features for Xtensa processors.
• Improve code generation, performance tuning, and architecture enablement across the LLVM-based toolchain.
• Partner with hardware and architecture teams on new ISA features and processor capabilities.
• Analyze and optimize real-world AI, DSP, and vision workloads.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical direction and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in compiler development or low-level systems software, including academic or industry experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of compiler internals, including LLVM, GCC, or similar frameworks.
• Strong foundation in computer architecture and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with DSPs, AI/ML workloads, or embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLVM or GCC backends and optimization passes.
• Experience working closely with hardware teams or enabling new processor architectures.
