TL;DR

QA Functional & Automation Engineer (Java): Ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of cloud-based managed services with an accent on test strategy development, manual execution, and automation script maintenance. Focus on building regression suites, performing API testing, and collaborating with engineering squads to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Location: Must be based in Lima, Peru (Hybrid role)

What you will do

  • Execute manual test cases for new features and regression suites, documenting results in Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Develop and update automated test scripts for web and API testing using Java and Selenium.
  • Identify, document, and report defects with precision, including reproduction steps and logs.
  • Perform basic data validation using SQL queries on PostgreSQL and cloud databases.
  • Assist in the setup and smoke testing of test environments.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of test cases and user stories.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Lima, Peru.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • Basic knowledge of Java (variables, loops, conditions).
  • Understanding of web automation basics (HTML/CSS selectors, Selenium).
  • Experience with Postman for API testing and basic SQL for data verification.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice to have

  • Experience with test frameworks like Protractor.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and SDLC practices.
