TL;DR
Principal Industrial Designer (AI): Leading the design and development of future-forward mouse experiences in Cork, from concept through production builds, with an accent on ergonomics, physical prototyping, surface CAD, CMF, and manufacturing. Focus on transforming complex human problems into polished handheld products, integrating AI into ideation, and shaping the strategic direction of the Mouse Design Team.
Location: Cork, Ireland; hybrid role with 3 days a week on site

What you will do
- Lead the design and development of future-forward mouse experiences that address complex human problems.
- Manage design processes and projects from initial brief through production builds, maintaining high standards of quality and detail.
- Partner with senior leadership to shape the long-term direction of the Mouse Design Team and align design strategy with business objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, product marketing, and business stakeholders across a multidisciplinary environment.
- Mentor designers and provide thought leadership focused on exceptional craftsmanship and innovation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant industrial design experience, with a portfolio of successful high-volume consumer hardware products.
- Advanced sketching, visualisation, physical prototyping, hand-sculpting in foam, anthropometrics, and ergonomics skills.
- Expert proficiency in surface CAD, with strong knowledge of Rhino, SolidWorks, Alias, Fusion, or Creo Parametric, including Class-A surfacing principles.
- Experience with materials, colours and finishes, design for manufacturing, and EVT/DVT/PVT build processes.
- Comfort integrating AI tools such as Vizcom, Gemini, or Magnific into ideation and concept visualisation workflows.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field, plus strong communication and storytelling skills.
