Principal Field Application Engineer - Auto MCU (Automotive): Supporting the integration of NXP automotive MCU platforms for OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and ecosystem partners with an accent on embedded hardware and software integration, AUTOSAR MCAL, and system-level automotive architectures. Focus on enabling Software-Defined Vehicle programs, debugging multicore systems and security engines, and resolving complex customer integration issues.
Location: Seoul (Jung-gu), South Korea

What you will do
- Provide customer-facing technical support for NXP automotive MCU platforms to OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and ecosystem partners.
- Guide hardware and software design-in activities, including Ethernet TSN, CAN-FD, HSE/HSM security engines, and embedded software integration.
- Support system bring-up, boot configuration, multicore initialization, and AUTOSAR MCAL or RTD integration.
- Advise on zonal gateway architectures, virtualization, and ECU consolidation for Software-Defined Vehicle programs.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and training materials for pre- and post-sales engagements.
- Coordinate escalations with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in field application engineering, applications engineering, or design engineering focused on automotive microcontrollers.
- Expertise in embedded systems design with ARM Cortex-M, Cortex-R, or Cortex-A architectures.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with embedded IDEs, debuggers, and compilers.
- Experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, PX5, or AUTOSAR OS, plus AUTOSAR MCAL configuration and integration.
- Good English communication skills are required, along with willingness to travel for customer meetings and technical training.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of automotive MCU security implementation.
- Experience with JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
