TL;DR

Automation Software Engineer (Python/Java): Designing and developing robust automation frameworks and software tools for trade surveillance technology with an accent on performance, scalability, and system reliability. Focus on building comprehensive test automation solutions and optimizing development processes within a global financial infrastructure.

Location: Must be based in Sydney, Australia (Hybrid: 2+ days per week in-office). Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation systems and software tools for the surveillance platform.
  • Build scalable test automation solutions covering functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Enhance existing software products to improve performance, functionality, and usability.
  • Drive improvements to development and testing processes and contribute to shared tooling.
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality trade surveillance technology.

Requirements

  • Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development or automation engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and/or Java.
  • Solid experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools, Docker, Git, and database technologies like PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial markets or trading systems.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies like TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Puppet, Jira, or Bitbucket.
