Protection Monitor

Protection Monitor (Humanitarian): Implementing protection monitoring activities in Shabwa to identify and report risks affecting IDPs, host communities, and migrants with an accent on data collection, trend analysis, and case referrals. Focus on conducting field-based assessments, facilitating interviews, and ensuring evidence-based programming to support vulnerable populations.

Location: Must be based in Abyan/Shabwa, Yemen

What you will do

• Conduct mobile field visits 4-5 times per week to identify protection risks and humanitarian needs.
• Collect and upload protection data using digital systems and participate in data cleaning and analysis.
• Facilitate one-on-one interviews and focus group discussions with IDPs, migrants, and community leaders.
• Support the referral of vulnerable cases and disseminate information on available services.
• Maintain up-to-date service mapping and referral pathways in coordination with internal teams and partners.
• Produce clear, protection-focused reports and situation alerts based on field observations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a relevant field.
• At least two years of experience in an NGO, preferably in protection.
• High standard of spoken and written Arabic and English.
• Ability to conduct regular field visits in Shabwa and surrounding areas.
• Basic digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse communities.
