TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Python/iGaming): Leading the technical internalisation and evolution of the Remote Gaming Server (RGS) platform with an accent on system architecture, performance optimization, and compliance. Focus on managing technical debt, establishing engineering standards, and building the foundation for a dedicated internal RGS team.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Marousi, Greece (Hybrid)

What you will do

  • Act as the primary technical owner of the RGS application, driving design, stability, and technical direction.
  • Lead knowledge transfer from external vendors and assess architectural risks.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs, manage technical debt, and maintain platform documentation.
  • Implement performance improvements in database access, caching, and critical code paths.
  • Plan and execute modernization of language versions and dependencies without disrupting production.
  • Collaborate with product and DevOps teams to support releases and define the technical roadmap.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience with Python 3.x in large, long-lived codebases.
  • Experience with Python web frameworks (Pyramid, Django, or Flask) and API development (REST/GraphQL).
  • Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Practical experience with Redis for caching and state management.
  • Ability to work with explicit state machines and automated testing frameworks like pytest.
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Python packaging tools.
