What you will do

  • Support the implementation of advocacy and community engagement strategies aligned with country program priorities.
  • Facilitate effective engagement with government ministries, community leaders, and civil society organizations.
  • Contribute to the documentation of humanitarian needs and program impact to inform advocacy messaging.
  • Strengthen community feedback and accountability mechanisms across program locations.
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings and external stakeholder forums.
  • Assist in proposal development by providing context analysis and stakeholder mapping.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in advocacy, community engagement, or humanitarian programming.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with government stakeholders and local communities.
  • Understanding of humanitarian principles and protection mainstreaming.
  • Must be based in or able to work in Maiduguri, Nigeria.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in Northeast or Northwest Nigeria humanitarian context.
  • Knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages.
  • Ability to use social media and digital engagement tools.
