What you will do
- Support the implementation of advocacy and community engagement strategies aligned with country program priorities.
- Facilitate effective engagement with government ministries, community leaders, and civil society organizations.
- Contribute to the documentation of humanitarian needs and program impact to inform advocacy messaging.
- Strengthen community feedback and accountability mechanisms across program locations.
- Represent the organization in coordination meetings and external stakeholder forums.
- Assist in proposal development by providing context analysis and stakeholder mapping.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in advocacy, community engagement, or humanitarian programming.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with government stakeholders and local communities.
- Understanding of humanitarian principles and protection mainstreaming.
- Must be based in or able to work in Maiduguri, Nigeria.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in Northeast or Northwest Nigeria humanitarian context.
- Knowledge of Hausa, Kanuri, or other local languages.
- Ability to use social media and digital engagement tools.
