TL;DR

Senior Software Developer (Android): Developing and optimizing Android-based speech framework software for automotive interfaces with an accent on AOSP architecture, AIDL, and system-level performance. Focus on implementing customer-specific dialog interfaces, managing memory/CPU constraints, and integrating complex speech-controlled applications.

Location: Must be based in Seoul, South Korea (Hybrid)

What you will do

  • Analyze product requirements and define framework configurations with R&D teams.
  • Implement customer-specific speech dialog interfaces using Android infrastructure and AIDL.
  • Integrate dependencies into Android native interfaces and speech-controlled applications.
  • Measure and optimize memory and CPU usage on target automotive platforms.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve performance and reduce latency.
  • Assist project teams with localization and defect reproduction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Android, Java, Kotlin, and C/C++.
  • In-depth knowledge of Android architecture (AIDL, Binder, Lifecycle, System Services, AOSP).
  • Proficiency in Python scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Korean.
  • Ability to work onsite in Seoul and accommodate occasional business travel.

Nice to have

  • Background in embedded software development.
  • Experience with source control (Git/GitLab) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with unit test frameworks (Google Test, Jest).
  • Knowledge of speech recognition technologies.
  • Understanding of ASPICE processes and Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
