Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan, with 25–30% travel to testing facilities in Tochigi, Yorii, and Thailand.

What you will do

  • Review requirement specifications and provide solutions to identify potential defects early.
  • Design and maintain comprehensive test cases for mobile applications and vehicle hardware rigs.
  • Execute functional and non-functional tests across Android and iOS platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams on joint test planning and co-execution.
  • Report and track defects while proactively flagging quality risks.
  • Represent the global QA team locally in Japan.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a QA Engineer designing and executing test cases.
  • 4+ years of experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS.
  • Proficiency in mobile automation tools such as Appium, Maestro, XCUITest, or UIAutomator.
  • Professional proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation including API specs and system architecture.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman.

Nice to have

  • Embedded systems knowledge or experience.
  • Bluetooth or wireless protocol testing experience.
  • Automotive testing experience (CAN bus, LIN, Ethernet).
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
