Applied Science Manager, Personalization (LLM)

What you will do

• Lead a team of scientists working on LLM-based personalization systems.
• Set the technical vision and drive the applied research agenda.
• Guide the development and deployment of production-ready ML solutions for customer-facing personalization.
• Hire, mentor, and develop scientists while fostering scientific rigor and innovation.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to translate research into customer impact.
• Present the team's work and technical direction to senior leadership.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent research experience, or a master's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience managing scientists or machine learning engineers.
• At least 3 years of experience leading teams that build and deploy ML models for business applications.
• Applied research leadership experience in recommendation systems, information retrieval, NLP, or Large Language Models.
• Strategic thinking, effective written and verbal communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM training, fine-tuning, or adaptation, including tokenizer modification or domain adaptation.
• Experience with sequential recommendation, user intent or mission modeling, or behavioral modeling.
