Lead Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel/Vue)

Location: Remote for candidates currently residing in the United States, with occasional in-person office meetings required in the Madison, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, or Salt Lake City metro areas.

Base salary: $100,000–$135,000 annually, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, efficient, and secure SaaS products using PHP, Laravel, Vue, and Tailwind CSS.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and single-page applications that integrate with other services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software aligned with business and customer needs.
• Improve platform performance, security, scalability, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain code quality across the platform.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle and the strategic direction of software products supporting energy efficiency and decarbonization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building software with PHP frameworks, including advanced object-oriented PHP and Laravel.
• 4+ years of experience with Vue or similar JavaScript frameworks, including Composition API, state management, and modular component design.
• Experience with TypeScript, RESTful APIs, scalable SaaS platforms, and build tools such as Vite and npm.
• Proficiency with Git, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in an agile team environment.
• Experience writing testable code and tests with Pest or PHPUnit.
• Must currently reside in the United States; visa sponsorship or extensions are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience managing infrastructure on AWS Cloud and in serverless environments.
• Experience with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
