TL;DR

Group Financial Controller (Finance): Managing group-wide financial controls and accounting workflows for an open-source software leader with an accent on IFRS compliance, governance frameworks, and systems scalability. Location: Home based in EMEA time zones (option to be based in the London office)

What you will do

  • Develop and implement controls to mitigate risks associated with financial processes and systems.
  • Lead the improvement of policies and procedures to enable efficient business scaling.
  • Manage weekly, month-end, and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions.
  • Drive the implementation of new finance systems and the adoption of AI within the team.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Extensive practical knowledge and experience with IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Proven experience with enterprise-level accounting or ERP systems.
  • Must be based in EMEA time zones.
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NetSuite or Salesforce.
  • Experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm or a public company.
