PhD Position Haptics (Robotics)

Location: Must be based in Delft, Netherlands (Relocation support provided)

What you will do

• Design tactile signals with specific attributes for multimodal haptic research.
• Conduct human-participant experiments to evaluate perceptual responses to haptic feedback.
• Apply machine learning algorithms to analyze collected perceptual and physical data.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
• Co-supervise B.Sc. and M.Sc. students and contribute to course teaching as an assistant.

Requirements

• MSc degree in Electronics engineering, computer science, mechatronics engineering, or a related subject.
• High motivation for interdisciplinary research and a strong interest in haptics.
• Independent and critical attitude with a strong work ethic and scientific integrity.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Delft, Netherlands
• English proficiency required for academic communication and thesis writing

Nice to have

• Experience in signal processing or mechatronic design.
• Proficiency in data analysis using machine learning algorithms.
• Experience working with electromechanical hardware such as sensors and actuators.
