What you will do

• Own the scientific logic of data quality across the foundry and implement automated checks for various assay types.
• Build anomaly detection and QC models to distinguish real biological signals from instrument drift and noise.
• Collaborate with software and ML teams to refine automated data pipelines for instrument output processing.
• Link experimental results back to protein sequence, structure, and design to reinforce computational models.
• Create structured, benchmark-grade datasets for customers and the training of protein-design models.
• Apply statistical rigor to multi-condition data at scale across hundreds of simultaneous experiments.

Requirements

• Strong background in data science and bioinformatics with proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scientific stack).
• Genuine grounding in biology, specifically understanding proteins, assays, and sequence/structure/function.
• Statistical maturity in process control, anomaly detection, and handling batch effects.
• Proven track record of shipping pipelines, tools, and models into real production use.
• Experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) as a default part of the development workflow.
• Location: Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Lausanne, Switzerland

Nice to have

• Experience with protein/sequence-structure data and bioinformatics tooling.
• Experience applying ML to experimental data.
• Experience building datasets specifically for model training and benchmarking.
