Molecular Biologist Intern (Biotech)

What you will do

• Execute end-to-end molecular cloning and protein production including PCR, assembly, transformation, expression, and purification.
• Perform QC on constructs and proteins using capillary electrophoresis, sequencing, and SDS-PAGE.
• Optimize flaky or slow workflows to improve reliability and speed through better protocols and automation.
• Work hands-on with liquid handlers to transition manual protocols into automated systems.
• Maintain rigorous data documentation and sample tracking to ensure results are reproducible and traceable.
• Diagnose and resolve failures across biological reagents and lab instruments.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in PCR, cloning, transformation, and electrophoresis.
• Currently studying or recently graduated in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Life Science Engineering.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Lausanne, Switzerland.
• AI-native approach to learning and working, utilizing AI tools by default.
• High standards for experimental accuracy and a self-starter mindset.

Nice to have

• Comfort with Python scripting.
• Experience with liquid-handling automation.
