Focus on designing and debugging embedded applications, implementing unit and system tests, resolving technical requirements, and analyzing root causes across vehicle platforms.
Location: Bucharest, Romania; full-time remote work globally may be available for positions that can be performed outside a or customer location
Annual gross base salary: RON 246,000–360,800

What you will do
- Study customer and internal specifications and create component design documents based on the software architecture.
- Develop, modify, port, and maintain C++ software components for embedded Linux telematics systems.
- Implement features, fix bugs, perform root cause analysis, and verify the effectiveness of software fixes.
- Perform functional, unit, and system testing; specify unit tests and participate in code reviews.
- Debug software with gdb, identify performance and product issues, and improve required KPIs.
- Clarify technical requirements and coordinate solutions with customers, stakeholders, software leads, and engineering groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related IT discipline.
- At least 4 years of software development experience, including 3+ years with C++.
- Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux, Linux, embedded applications, and embedded operating systems.
- Experience with inter-process communication, threading, and socket communication.
- Knowledge of software development processes and automotive software standards.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills; willingness to travel up to 20% depending on project needs.
Nice to have
- Experience with TCP, UDP, MQTT, or CAN protocols.
- Linux Kernel experience.
- Knowledge of UML and agile methods such as Scrum or SAFe Agile.
