TL;DR
AES - SW Engineer - SWDL (C++): Developing embedded C++/Linux software components for automotive telematics, connecting vehicles to the Internet of Things with an accent on 5G, V2X, and in-car applications. Focus on designing, debugging, testing, and optimizing software across unit and system levels while resolving technical requirements and root-cause issues.
Location: Hybrid, Bucharest, Romania; international travel of up to 20% may be required.
Salary: RON 246,000–360,800 gross per year.

What you will do
- Study customer and internal specifications and create component design documents based on the software architecture.
- Develop, modify, port, and maintain embedded C++/Linux software components for automotive telematics.
- Resolve unclear technical requirements with internal, external, and customer stakeholders.
- Perform functional, unit, and system-level testing, participate in code reviews, and implement unit tests.
- Debug software with GDB, perform root-cause analysis, fix defects, and verify corrective actions.
- Coordinate development with software teams across and contribute to improving product KPIs and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
- At least 4 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years with C++.
- Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux, Linux, embedded applications, and embedded operating systems.
- Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, and socket communication.
- Working knowledge of software development processes and automotive software standards.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills; willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.
Nice to have
- Experience with TCP and UDP protocols.
- Linux Kernel experience.
- Knowledge of UML and Agile methods such as Scrum or SAFe.
