Lead ABAP Cloud Developer

What you will do

• Define technical architecture for ABAP Cloud solutions on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and SAP BTP.
• Design domain models, service interfaces, APIs, RAP applications, CDS views, OData services, and RESTful services.
• Lead the development of cloud-native ABAP applications, S/4HANA extensions, and integrations with SAP BTP services.
• Establish engineering standards for performance, security, testability, reusability, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Lead code reviews, coach developers, and collaborate with product owners, architects, and business experts.
• Evaluate SAP innovations and contribute to modernization, cloud-readiness, and extensibility roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of ABAP development experience, including at least 2–3 years with ABAP Cloud, RAP, and SAP S/4HANA.
• Deep knowledge of RAP, CDS, OData, REST APIs, S/4HANA Public Cloud extensions, and clean-core principles.
• Practical experience with SAP BTP services such as Destination, XSUAA/IAS, Event Mesh, API Management, and Integration Suite.
• Experience with software engineering practices and SAP DevOps/CI/CD tools, including gCTS, abapGit, automated testing, and code quality checks.
• Proven technical leadership experience, with excellent communication skills in German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP Build Apps, SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Work Zone, SAPUI5, or Fiori Elements.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and asynchronous SAP BTP integrations.
• Knowledge of finance, loans, public-sector, or development-banking processes.
• Experience with Scrum, SAFe, and international distributed teams.
