What you will do
- Develop and adapt animation systems and technology within Unreal Engine 5 to meet technical and creative needs.
- Prototype and implement runtime systems, including animation graphs, state machines, blending, and layering.
- Build and maintain animation tools and pipelines that empower animators and technical artists.
- Collaborate with animation, art, design, and engineering teams to realize creative ambitions.
- Estimate animation feature development and identify potential technical risks or obstacles.
- Research and implement cutting-edge coding techniques and algorithms for character animation.
Requirements
- Proven experience shipping one or more AAA game titles, ideally using Unreal Engine.
- Advanced proficiency in C++, linear algebra, 3D maths, and Object-Oriented design principles (OOP).
- Strong experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprints, and core animation principles (blend spaces, linked layers, etc.).
- Hands-on implementation of inverse kinematics, ragdoll, physics-based, or procedural animation.
- Ability to work independently under deadlines and communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must be based in or able to work from Brighton, Brno, or Prague
Nice to have
- Experience with machine-learning-driven animation (motion matching, learned pose generation).
- Proficiency with Control Rig, IK Rig, and Motion Warping.
- Experience with Mass locomotion, Mover, or UAF/AnimNext.
- Strong familiarity with Data-Oriented design principles (DOP).
- Hands-on experience developing for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
