What you will do

• Lead the technical evolution of the game platform, balancing immediate delivery with long-term scalability.
• Transition validated prototypes from concept stage to production.
• Design and build shared game infrastructure, including progression systems, content pipelines, and platform APIs.
• Mentor and develop other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architectural guidance.
• Refine engineering processes, including sprint planning and technical documentation standards.
• Evaluate and champion AI-assisted development practices to improve velocity and quality.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, specifically building and shipping web-based games or interactive experiences.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (Node.js), and web game frameworks like Pixi.js, Phaser, or Three.js.
• Solid backend fundamentals in API design, database modeling, and scalable distributed systems.
• Proven track record of technical leadership, architectural influence, and mentorship.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong project management skills to break down complex initiatives into actionable work.

Nice to have

• Background in real-time multiplayer, live ops, or games-as-a-service models.
• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience building internal tools or content pipelines.
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup or small game studio.
