What you will do

• Define and execute the end-to-end observability strategy covering logging, metrics, tracing, and profiling.
• Evaluate and evolve the observability stack and drive convergence toward a single-pane-of-glass internal experience.
• Build and lead a world-class observability engineering team, setting the bar for hiring and mentorship.
• Own the customer-facing observability product, including dashboards and logs explorer, ensuring a best-in-class developer experience.
• Orchestrate and scale high-throughput data pipelines for telemetry ingestion, storage, and querying.
• Establish SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and capacity planning practices to strengthen system reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years leading or managing teams.
• Proven track record of building or operating observability platforms at scale.
• Deep technical expertise in Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, ClickHouse, and OpenTelemetry.
• Ability to treat observability as a product with a strong focus on developer experience.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and moving quickly in a remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building customer-facing observability products.
• Production experience with Elixir/Erlang.
• Contributions to open-source observability projects.
• Experience at companies that dogfood their own observability tooling.
