TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Azure): Designing and tuning the data layer for mission-critical applications on Azure and SQL Server with an accent on query performance, indexing strategy, and concurrency design. Focus on architecting data access patterns, optimizing high-throughput solutions, and mentoring engineers on modern data engineering practices.

Location: Remote (Must be based in LATAM)

What you will do

  • Design and maintain SQL Server 2019+ schemas, indexes, and query patterns to meet scalability and concurrency requirements.
  • Analyze execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and tune queries, indexes, and statistics.
  • Implement and review data access using linq2db, LINQ-to-SQL, Entity Framework, and ADO.NET.
  • Design and operate Azure data solutions, including Azure SQL, storage, networking, and security configurations.
  • Contribute to database CI/CD through migration scripts, schema versioning, and automated deployments.
  • Mentor engineers on database design, query optimization, and data access patterns.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of professional data engineering or back-end engineering experience with a strong database focus.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL Server 2019+, including complex queries, window functions, and RCSI.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, bottleneck identification, and concurrency design under production load.
  • Strong proficiency in C# data access (linq2db, EF, ADO.NET) and Python for automation and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services and deploying production workloads in Azure.
  • English: Proficient written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or other Azure analytics services.
  • Experience designing event-driven or streaming data architectures.
