Senior Python Engineer (DevEx)

TL;DR

Senior Python Engineer (DevEx): Building and optimizing the foundations of developer experience, scalability, and performance for the Crystal platform with an accent on internal libraries, database query optimization, and CI/CD pipelines. Focus on solving complex concurrency challenges in distributed systems and improving system observability using Datadog and Grafana.

What you will do

• Improve platform performance, optimize database queries, and enhance overall system scalability.
• Configure monitoring and observability best practices using Datadog and Grafana.
• Manage and develop internal libraries to improve the developer experience.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to improve development pipelines and integrate code coverage tooling.
• Design and implement end-to-end features while maintaining high-quality code standards.
• Provide code reviews and constructive feedback to team members through continuous delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial experience developing Python backend services and APIs for the web.
• Solid software architecture skills and experience with distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Experience with the Flask framework.
• Proven expertise in performance optimization and caching.
• Proficiency in English and residency in Europe.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse or systems operating on large data volumes.
• Experience designing AI-enabled developer environments.
• Knowledge of Rust.
• Passion for Bitcoin and blockchain technologies.
