What you will do

  • Design and implement large-scale automation and build tooling across a distributed network of servers.
  • Lead architecture requirements and technical design to ensure stability and shape the team's technical standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership in Sydney and Los Angeles to deliver high-performance systems.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices related to build and automation systems.
  • Coordinate across multiple time zones to plan and deliver robust, scalable, and performant systems.
  • Troubleshoot live service issues as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipped games or products.
  • Expert proficiency in C and C++ with strong debugging skills and knowledge of game design patterns.
  • Experience developing real-time online multiplayer games using Unreal Engine.
  • Expertise in automation tooling, performance tooling, build/release pipelines, or telemetry.
  • Must be based in Sydney, Australia.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MMOs or large-scale online games specifically focused on build systems.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5, Blueprint visual scripting, and Iris.
  • Experience working in agile environments with mid-sized engineering teams.
