What you will do

• Perform remote DBA activities for global customers, including database monitoring and health checks.
• Automate repetitive DBA tasks and help build tools and enhancements for the hirify.global ecosystem.
• Design and implement database architectures and best practices to improve performance and durability.
• Manage SkySQL customers across various cloud environments.
• Ensure customer SLAs through on-call rotations and specific shift schedules (Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday preferred).
• Contribute to the professional community through blogging and social media.

Requirements

• Experience with hirify.global/MySQL and proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization.
• Knowledge of database design, administration, and high availability environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Must be based in the US; hirify.global does not sponsor work visas or relocation.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Experience in 24x7 support environments and proficiency with backup utilities (mydumper, Xtrabackup, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
• Experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud offerings.
• Working knowledge of other database systems like Postgres, MongoDB, or Oracle.
