What you will do

• Develop system services and IPC interfaces (AIDL) for headless, custom AOSP builds.
• Create hardware abstractions to enable AI-driven cameras to process data autonomously in the field.
• Implement testable service layers using Rust and C++.
• Design versioned service interfaces to expose device functionality via a custom SDK.
• Optimize device power, performance, and memory management using profilers and tracing tools.
• Streamline code to ensure support for multiple platforms and contribute to next-generation products.

Requirements

• Experience designing versioned service interfaces via AIDL/HIDL.
• Proven ability to develop testable services in Rust/C++.
• Strong Kotlin/Java development skills and knowledge of the Android build system.
• Deep understanding of OS threading, synchronization (semaphores, deadlocks), and memory management.
• Experience with AOSP development, shell scripting, and SE Policy.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Linux kernel driver development or Embedded Linux.
• Experience with Qualcomm-based Android devices and the Qualcomm Camera Stack.
• Proficiency with Perfetto for debugging and performance tuning.
• Ability to write automation shell scripts to boost team productivity.
