TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript): Building and optimizing scalable systems for financial automation, fiscalization, and e-invoicing with an accent on regulatory compliance and data consistency. Focus on designing core backend platforms, integrating with third-party APIs, and establishing engineering standards for a new domain.

Location: Hybrid in Tallinn, Estonia (minimum 2 days in office per week)

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable core platforms for financial flows, ensuring data completeness and compliance across regions.
  • Build integrations between hirify.global's internal backend services and various third-party tools and APIs.
  • Set the technical direction and engineering standards for the Financial Automation domain aligned with ITGC/DORA requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Commerce, and Product stakeholders to translate regulatory needs into reliable automations.
  • Lead features and initiatives end-to-end, from initial idea to successful execution.
  • Promote engineering best practices and share knowledge through technical talks.

Requirements

  • Solid backend engineering experience with a track record of shipping scalable, reliable systems.
  • Proficiency in microservice architecture and API design.
  • Strong principles for writing clean, secure, and maintainable code.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Must be based in or able to work from Tallinn, Estonia (hybrid).
  • Baseline expectation to use AI tools daily to improve work efficiency.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in finance-adjacent domains such as fintech, tax, or accounting.
