What you will do

• Design and develop embedded software in C/C++ and Python to manage hardware components.
• Collaborate with hardware and FPGA engineers to define control interfaces and support board bring-up.
• Build robust automated tests and infrastructure to validate platform features.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on the team.
• Engage with customers and support engineers to mitigate and fix complex hardware-related software issues.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong experience in C/C++ and/or Python in an embedded context.
• Broad background in embedded systems software engineering on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Must have legal entitlement to work in Australia (Citizenship or Permanent Residency).
• Applied understanding of software engineering principles.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with low-level protocols like I2C, SPI, and PCIe.
• Ability to read hardware datasheets and schematics.
• Experience with board bring-up processes.
• Understanding of IP networking or distributed systems.
