🌀 VP, Head of Operations, Moscow / international bank in Moscow

We are seeking a VP, Head of Operations to lead, organise, and control all key operational functions. This is a senior role with signatory authority, reporting to the Executive Committee and managing a team of 20 professionals.

What You Will Do:
- Oversee international and domestic payments, trade finance, FX control, treasury back-office, loans & deposits, correspondent banking, and day-to-day client banking operations
- Lead, supervise, and monitor the Operations Department’s daily activity
- Coordinate closely with other departments to ensure seamless workflows
- Control cash flows and transaction administration
- Communicate and negotiate with correspondent banks
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements
- Drive process optimisation to improve business efficiency and client satisfaction
- Implement improvements that reduce operational costs and increase productivity
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and IT solutions
- Define job responsibilities, organise workflows, and manage staff performance
- Attend Executive Committee meetings and contribute to strategic decisions
- Advise clients and internal stakeholders on operational matters
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures
- Lead the preparation, development, and launch of new projects and products
 
What We Are Looking For:
- Higher education in Finance or a related field
- Extensive experience in an international bank, this is mandatory
- Fluent English (C1+) and native Russian
- Proven leadership experience across FX, settlements, credit, and back-office functions
- Strong knowledge of Russian banking operations, payments, and correspondent banking
- Ability to drive change, reduce costs, and implement IT solutions
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
