TL;DR
Principal Integration & Test Engineer (Spacecraft): Developing and standardizing integration, qualification, and acceptance testing for high-power spacecraft and autonomous satellite constellations with an accent on environmental testing, flightworthiness verification, and production-scale test flows. Focus on operating spacecraft during system tests, leading qualification campaigns, managing launch-vehicle and customer interfaces, and mitigating mission risk.
Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role involves on-site testing at factories, test facilities, launch sites, and during pre-launch operations. The hired person must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license under ITAR.
Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do
- Develop company-wide manual and automated vehicle testing standards to verify spacecraft hardware and software flightworthiness.
- Operate spacecraft by interpreting telemetry and sending commands during factory, facility, launch-site, and pre-launch system tests.
- Lead environmental test campaigns and high-visibility qualification campaigns for development and flight hardware.
- Assess integration and test risks, justify test reductions, and optimize spacecraft build and test flows for at-rate production.
- Coordinate payload testing with customers and manage contractual interfaces with launch-vehicle providers.
- Mentor junior engineers and build consensus across technical disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in integration, test, or automation engineering.
- 5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting spacecraft, subsystems, and related systems, including subsystem checkouts and system acceptance testing.
- Experience with environmental testing such as thermal vacuum and random vibration, plus clean-room work with ESD-sensitive equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
- Hands-on experience with HITL/HWIL or Flatsat software verification testbeds, as well as strong conflict-resolution and negotiation skills.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python and/or Rust.
- Experience with Linux systems.
- Experience managing customer and launch-vehicle contractual interfaces.
