What you will do

• Implement and integrate low-level software, including bootloader configuration, device trees, and kernel porting during hardware bring-up.
• Customize, optimize, and debug the Linux Kernel and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for partner SOCs.
• Develop and maintain Vendor HALs to interface in-house hardware IP with the Android framework.
• Drive system-level performance optimization for boot time, scheduling, thermal management, and power efficiency.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to clarify technical requirements and stabilize interfaces for the broader software team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience in embedded systems, low-level Android, or OS development.
• Deep expertise in Linux Kernel (device drivers, memory management, IPC, scheduling) and embedded OS concepts.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
• Hands-on experience modifying, debugging, and building AOSP, including Android HALs and Treble/VNDK.
• Ability to read hardware specifications (datasheets, block diagrams) and provide technical feedback on hardware design.

Nice to have

• Experience with Android Automotive OS or IVI environments.
• Knowledge of system security fundamentals, secure boot, and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).
• Experience with virtualization technologies like KVM or hypervisors for embedded platforms.
• Experience with audio stacks (ALSA, Audio HAL) or graphics stacks (SurfaceFlinger, display pipelines).
