AI Engineer (RAG)

TL;DR

AI Engineer (RAG): Building a next-generation Retrieval-Augmented Generation platform and AI-powered support surfaces for customer service with an accent on scalability and high availability. Focus on expanding RAG systems to support new knowledge sources and improving experimentation velocity for AI applications.

Location: Hybrid in Beijing, China (3 days work from office required)

What you will do

• Design and build end-to-end AI-powered product solutions to enhance the customer service experience.
• Develop the next-generation RAG platform and AI-powered surfaces, such as the Help Center.
• Collaborate with ML, Product, Content, and Data Science teams to build highly available and scalable services.
• Optimize system availability, performance, and scalability for high-volume data pipelines.
• Use AI tooling to analyze data, build hypotheses, and iterate on Integrated Knowledge Management services.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in the design and operation of AI-powered applications.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Java, Kotlin, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with large-scale system architectural patterns and efficient algorithms.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficient English communication skills in a professional setting.
• Must be based in Beijing, China.

• Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Experience with search, retrieval, and ranking systems.
• Experience with Agentic Systems.
