What you will do

• Develop, expand, and maintain data scrapers for the Japanese power market.
• Build and improve the product by developing new features and enhancing data enrichment.
• Design database architectures to ensure timely access to pricing, availability, and generation data.
• Optimize API performance for efficient data distribution to end users.
• Implement monitoring, alerting tools, and dashboards to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with the product team to define and execute a sustainable roadmap.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a data-focused Software Engineer.
• Significant proficiency in Python and experience with PostgreSQL or similar data stores.
• Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong experience with time-series data, normalization, and database design.
• Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and Terraform.
• Proficiency with Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Knowledge of hexagonal and medallion architectures.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, sqlmesh, or dbt.
• Japanese language proficiency.
