Optical Design Engineer

Location: Must be based in Vilnius (Lithuania) or Daugavpils (Latvia)

Salary: €4,000–€6,000 (gross, including monthly bonus)

What you will do

• Design and optimize optical systems including imaging, illumination, and beam shaping.
• Perform optical simulations, tolerancing, and sensitivity analysis to ensure high system performance.
• Develop and analyze aspheric components with a focus on manufacturability.
• Collaborate on the testing and alignment of electro-optical systems and components.
• Prepare technical documentation and drawings according to international standards.
• Maintain and update the internal optical components database.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Zemax OpticStudio (ZOS).
• Language proficiency: Lithuanian (B2+), English (B2+), and Russian (B2+).
• Strong knowledge of geometric and wave optics.
• Experience in optical system design and modeling from concept to implementation.
• Proficiency in optical analysis (MTF, PSF, spot diagrams, irradiance, luminance).
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and basic knowledge of mechanical analysis tools like Ansys.

Nice to have

• Experience working with electro-optical components such as CMOS, CCD, OLED, or LCOS.
