Junior Process Design Engineer (Chemical Engineering)

TL;DR

Junior Process Design Engineer (Chemical Engineering): Supporting process engineering and design activities for industrial projects with an accent on developing PFDs, P&IDs, and engineering calculations. Focus on equipment sizing, pressure drop calculations, and ensuring compliance with international standards in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors.

What you will do

• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process calculations including line sizing, pressure drop, and equipment sizing.
• Develop process datasheets for equipment, valves, and instruments.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil departments.
• Review vendor documents and provide commissioning support during site visits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Around 2 years of experience in Process Design Engineering.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Industrial, Petrochemical, Water Treatment, or EPC projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus.
• Knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and international safety standards.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Qatar.

Nice to have

• Experience working within an EPC project environment.
• Knowledge of HAZOP and process safety concepts.
• Prior project experience within the GCC region.
