TL;DR

Technical Director (Unreal Engine 5/C++): Overseeing talented teams to develop AAA games for PC and consoles with an accent on game architecture, tool chain design, and optimization. Focus on implementing critical functionalities, managing technical risks, and streamlining DevOps for high-end gaming projects.

Location: Position based in Cergy, France. Partial work from home possible. Relocation support available.

What you will do

  • Establish development strategies and staff plans for project proposals.
  • Manage, guide, and mentor lead developers reporting to you.
  • Define technical solutions for the most complex problems and assess technical risks.
  • Advise development teams daily to maximize production safety and project quality.
  • Participate in the development of critical functionalities and write technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with design and artistic teams to propose and implement feature improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in multimedia or real-time 3D projects, with at least 5 years in the video game industry.
  • Proven track record of releasing at least one AA/AAA PC or console game in a significant role.
  • Proven experience as a lead developer or in a higher management position.
  • Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
  • Deep understanding of low-level system programming, game engine architecture, and performance/memory optimization.
  • English: C1+ proficiency (very good command of technical English, written and oral).

Nice to have

  • Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
  • Experience in DevOps.
  • Strong appetite for performance optimization.
