TL;DR

Registered Nurse (Mental Health): Responding to individuals in crisis requiring de-escalation, mental health and risk assessments, and coordination of community care with an accent on crisis intervention and risk assessment. Focus on developing collaborative case management plans and providing trauma-informed care for clients with substance use history.

Location: Charlottetown, PE, Canada (Onsite)

Salary: $44.26 - $55.29 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform initial and ongoing client assessments, including suicide risk and substance use history.
  • Provide education and support to clients through individual and group sessions.
  • Develop comprehensive case management plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary providers, including psychiatry, EMS, and police services.
  • Deliver recovery-based, trauma-informed care and educate clients on harm reduction strategies.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing (Diploma with extensive clinical experience may be considered).
  • 1-3 years of nursing experience in hospital or community settings.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island.
  • Solid knowledge of chemical dependency, substance use, and the Provincial Mental Health Act.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and experience using the Telus EMR.
