TL;DR

Senior Specialist Service Operations (Windows/Linux/Infrastructure): Leading end-to-end technical ownership and advanced troubleshooting for mission-critical passenger processing systems with an accent on incident resolution, automation, and system reliability. Focus on driving root cause analysis, mentoring team members, and partnering with SRE and Engineering to optimize operational workflows.

Location: Cairo, Egypt (Hybrid: up to 2 days/week work from home)

What you will do

  • Lead complex incident investigations and act as a technical anchor during Major Incidents (P1/P2).
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis across application stacks, middleware, databases, and hardware interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain production-grade automation using PowerShell and Python to improve system health and reduce noise.
  • Drive Problem Records for systemic issues and improve SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Mentor and coach Service Operations Specialists on troubleshooting approaches and technical documentation quality.
  • Partner with SRE and Engineering teams to translate operational pain points into platform improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in service operations, application support, or systems/platform operations.
  • Expert-level proficiency in PowerShell and strong experience with Python.
  • Deep understanding of distributed application architectures, API-based integrations, and Windows environments.
  • Practical experience with ITIL frameworks, specifically Major Incident and Problem Management.
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to explain complex failures to diverse stakeholders.
  • Degree or equivalent diploma in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Telecommunications.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and endpoint tools like Nexthink, DEX, or EDR platforms.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, CCNA/CCNP, or RHSCA.
