Automation Lead (Test Automation)

What you will do

• Lead test automation, SDET, load, and performance engineering teams.
• Design automation frameworks and solutions for cloud and on-premises platforms, covering UI, API automation, service virtualization, CI/CD, and test tool integration.
• Define test strategies, automation approaches, environment plans, and test data management plans for core banking and satellite applications.
• Maintain automation and performance test repositories with execution and reporting integrated into deployment pipelines.
• Work with business, IT, operations, risk, and project stakeholders to define requirements, manage risks, and deliver automation initiatives.
• Drive innovation, technical improvements, status reporting, and adoption of industry-standard practices.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience driving test automation strategies and technical solutions.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools including Cucumber, API test automation, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Expertise in Java and good understanding of software engineering practices, clean code, branching, releases, and versioning.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure, and CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
• Experience in load and performance testing with JMeter, K6, or Playwright, plus observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Private banking experience, including Temenos T24 core banking.
• Experience with core banking solutions, streaming platforms such as Confluent Kafka or IBM MQ, and Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
