What you will do
- Lead the implementation of a coherent and contextually relevant policy and influencing agenda.
- Define and represent Syria’s positions on key national and regional issues.
- Integrate advocacy, policy work, media, and communications into a unified strategic framework.
- Manage risks associated with the execution of the influencing strategy and action plans.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making forums concerning campaign management within Syria and the MENA region.
- Represent in multiple platforms and fora at national, regional, and international levels.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in advocacy, policy, networking, and alliance building in a humanitarian crisis context.
- Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in social sciences.
- Proven ability in developing, implementing, and monitoring program-based campaign and advocacy strategies.
- Excellent representational and lobbying skills with experience of advocacy with senior decision-makers.
- Proven leadership skills including the ability to challenge, motivate, and develop direct reports.
Nice to have
- Advocacy, policy, and communications/media experience in Syria or a similar humanitarian context.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Syrian and broader regional context.
- Ability to travel internationally on short notice.
