Applied Science Manager (AI)

hirify.global’s Personalization organization develops large-scale machine learning, generative AI, and distributed systems for relevant customer experiences.

What you will do

• Lead a team of scientists developing LLM-powered customer memory and personalization systems.
• Define the scientific direction for extracting, validating, curating, and applying customer knowledge.
• Own end-to-end ML solution delivery from problem formulation and modeling through offline and online experimentation and production deployment.
• Drive work on fact extraction, memory quality and lifecycle, temporal reasoning, and grounded personalization.
• Hire and develop scientists, raise scientific quality standards, and foster ownership and rigor.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to translate research into measurable customer impact and communicate results to senior leadership.

Requirements

• PhD, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research experience in machine learning or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing Applied Scientists or ML Engineers.
• Experience leading end-to-end ML solutions, including problem formulation, offline experimentation, A/B testing, and production deployment at scale.
• Hands-on experience with modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning and/or Large Language Models.
• Experience setting scientific direction, reviewing modeling approaches, leading cross-team initiatives, and defining roadmaps.
• Strong communication skills for influencing senior leadership and aligning science, engineering, and product teams.

Nice to have

• Experience training, fine-tuning, adapting, or running large-scale inference with Large Language Models.
• Experience with recommendation systems, information retrieval, NLP, or personalization systems at scale.
• Experience with sequential recommendation, user intent or mission modeling, or behavioral modeling.
