Golang Backend Engineer

Location: Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, or Ukraine

hirify.global provides engineering services for a client operating a large enterprise travel and hospitality platform.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Golang for a high-load hotel reservation platform.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and services within a microservices-based architecture.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and other cross-functional teams.
• Improve system performance and reliability, identify issues, and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, pair programming, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Golang.
• Strong understanding of Go fundamentals, the standard library, and best practices.
• Experience designing and working with REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Good understanding of asynchronous communication and concurrency.
• Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Experience working in collaborative engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools such as ArgoCD.
• Understanding of networking basics, including routing, gateways, and firewalls.
• Experience with Java, Scala, C, C++, or Rust.
• Interest in the travel domain.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
