TL;DR

Senior RAMS Engineer (Space): Leading the definition, analysis, and verification of reliability and availability across satellite systems with an accent on system-level reliability models and fault tree analysis. Focus on quantifying mission-critical failure drivers, performing FMECA, and integrating RAMS activities into fast-evolving spacecraft designs.

Location: Hybrid (Helsinki, Finland). Relocation to Finland is supported.

What you will do

  • Define and own Satellite-level Reliability and Availability targets, ensuring they are technically justified and verifiable.
  • Develop and maintain system-level Reliability models, including Fault Tree (FT) structures and quantitative assessments.
  • Estimate service availability by accounting for recoverable failures through MTBF and MTTR modelling.
  • Identify and quantify main contributors to mission failure to provide prioritized inputs for risk mitigation.
  • Lead and execute RAMS analyses across the program lifecycle, including FTA, Reliability Allocation, and FMECA to support FDIR.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in RAMS engineering for complex space systems.
  • Demonstrated experience on at least one space mission or flight-critical program where RAMS influenced design.
  • Proven capability to build and quantify Fault Tree models and perform Reliability Allocation.
  • Solid experience performing FMECA at system and item levels to support FDIR and design mitigations.
  • Strong background in data gathering, reliability databases, and uncertainty handling.
  • Experience with early-phase RAMS activities (pre-SRR / SRR) with evolving architectures.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with both Legacy and NewSpace programs.
  • Exposure to sensitivity analysis and trade-off studies to guide architecture or redundancy decisions.
