Intern Data Analyst

TL;DR

Intern Data Analyst (Health Informatics): Supporting HIV and TB data analysis and fostering data use for program improvement with an accent on epidemiological principles and DWH optimization. Focus on developing dashboards, performing data cleaning, and extracting insights from large databases using SQL.

Location: Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya

What you will do

• Improve data quantity and quality within the Data Warehouse (DWH).
• Perform data cleaning, mapping, and quality assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
• Create and maintain data visualization dashboards including data modeling.
• Develop information products, DWH-related documentation, and data dictionaries.
• Support end-user training and capacity building for DWH access.
• Provide recommendations for DWAPI enhancements to meet stakeholder needs.

Requirements

• University degree in computing, statistics, or science.
• Proficiency in R, Python, or STATA for statistical analysis and data cleaning.
• Strong SQL skills, specifically with Teradata, for extracting data from large databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Fluent English both spoken and written.
