What you will do
- Own the full people management lifecycle for 20-30 engineers, including 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development.
- Assemble and optimize cross-functional delivery teams and allocate capacity based on scaling initiatives.
- Lead the hiring process for all engineering roles within the pillar, from designing the process to technical assessment and decision-making.
- Participate in architecture reviews and RFCs as a strategic stakeholder to flag capacity risks and evaluate technical trade-offs.
- Partner with the CTO and People team on workforce planning, salary reviews, and organizational development.
Requirements
- Professional background in software engineering with the ability to engage credibly in system design discussions.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership managing 15+ engineers across multiple teams.
- Proven track record owning the full people management cycle, including hiring and difficult conversations.
- English: Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a role-separated model where technical direction is led by Tech Leads.
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (fintech, banking, insurance).
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience managing organizational change, such as restructuring or role redefinition.
- Familiarity with financial services concepts like AML/KYC and licensing.
