Motion Design Lead

What you will do

• Lead motion design across a range of client projects from concept to final delivery in 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation
• Define visual direction, pacing, transitions, and motion systems for projects
• Work closely with producers, editors, designers, and directors to bring ideas to life
• Review and provide feedback to motion designers, maintaining high creative standards
• Guide and mentor the motion team through critiques, collaboration, and workflow support
• Build scalable templates, systems, and processes to improve consistency and efficiency

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in motion design, ideally across product/UI motion and brand/marketing work
• Track record of leading or mentoring other motion designers
• Strong reel demonstrating range across launch films, brand work, product motion, and social
• Expert in After Effects and Figma; fluency in at least one 3D tool (Cinema 4D, Blender, Spline, or similar)
• Real visual design fundamentals: type, layout, color, composition, timing
• Strong opinions on easing, timing, and restraint; comfortable as IC and leader
• Self-directed and remote-ready; experience in studio, agency, or fast-moving startup environments
