What you will do
- Drive delivery of developer tools: MCP server, CLI, local dev environment, SDK, documentation pipeline, deploy/versioning.
- Lead and mentor three engineers: set direction, code reviews, ensure quality.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies from payments, auth, live ops, catalog; manage timelines.
- Contribute hands-on: write production code on critical components.
- Partner with Principal Engineer and PO on architecture execution, roadmap, trade-offs.
- Own delivery rhythm: planning, grooming, retros, status reporting.
- Define standards: testing, observability, deployments, documentation.
- Act as technical contact for partners and support hiring.
Requirements
- 6+ years software engineering, 2+ years tech lead/staff/senior lead.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js; shipped APIs/CLIs/SDKs.
- CLI tools, developer workflows experience.
- REST API design, SDK ergonomics.
- MCP or agentic AI tool-use patterns.
- Cross-team coordination, leading engineers.
- Cloud-native: CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS/GCP.
- Strong communication skills.
