Database Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in Limassol, Cyprus (Full relocation support provided)

What you will do

• Monitor PostgreSQL clusters to ensure availability, replication health, and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide rapid incident response for production databases.
• Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and MongoDB.
• Perform routine maintenance, including backups, restores, patching, and version upgrades.
• Manage database security, including the administration of users, roles, and privileges.
• Investigate performance bottlenecks and escalate complex issues to senior DBAs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL administration.
• 3+ years of solid Linux administration experience.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL replication, backup/restore, indexing, and query troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse and MongoDB administration in a support/monitoring role.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.

Nice to have

• Exposure to other databases such as Cassandra or Vertica.
• Experience with advanced PostgreSQL features like logical replication, partitioning, and extensions.
• Experience with MinIO/Ceph object storage.
