What you will do

• Operate production databases (TiDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and managed cloud DBs) ensuring 99.99% availability.
• Lead end-to-end epics from design through rollout, monitoring, and post-launch tuning.
• Design and execute zero-downtime database migrations and version upgrades.
• Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, Go, or Python.
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting dashboards using Datadog and Grafana.
• Partner with product teams on schema changes, capacity planning, and new DB adoption.

Requirements

• Experience operating databases at scale (>10K QPS or >1TB datasets) under production SLAs.
• Production experience with GCP or AWS managed database services (CloudSQL, AlloyDB, RDS, Aurora).
• Hands-on experience with database monitoring (Datadog, Grafana).
• Ability to lead complex technical epics independently.
• English: B1 (Independent)
• Japanese: B1 (Independent)

Nice to have

• Experience with CDC/streaming pipelines (Debezium, TiCDC, Kafka Connect).
• Kubernetes operational experience.
• Experience coordinating cross-team schema changes and migrations.
